Frequently asked questions

  • There are two ways to find legal services to buy on this website: searching and browsing. Wherever you see a search box, start typing a keyword for the service you are looking for, and options will appear. For browsing, look through the services pages, which are organised by category, and you will find the services available to buy online under each category (eg “Start & Structure Your Business”).

  • Selling fixed fee legal services online is unusual. Most firms want you to call them so they can figure out how much they can get away with charging you and then do a sales pitch. As a solo freelance solicitor, I do not follow the herd. I like to keep things simple and get on with delivering the work you need me to do to a very high standard. Contrary to what many law firms will have you believe, a lot of commercial legal services lend themselves to fixed fee pricing which in turm lends itself to the online shop model. I don’t think you will find this same approach anywhere else and I am sure that you will find it a quick and convenient way to obtain the legal services you need.

  • The fixed fee services you can buy online represent the legal tasks I am most frequently asked to undertake, making them easy to scope and price. If you need something else, that is no problem at all. Simply request a quote and I will get straight back to you.

  • Yes. I hold professional indemnity insurance underwritten at Lloyd's of London, providing cover of £1,000,000 per claim with defence costs covered in addition. My insurance is not on the SRA's Minimum Terms and Conditions; it is placed on the Lloyd's market through Miller Insurance Services LLP. Full details of my cover are available on request.

  • I am regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as a freelance solicitor (SRA number 666497). I am bound by the SRA Principles and the Code of Conduct for Solicitors. You can verify my status on the Solicitors Register.

  • The fees you pay through this website are for my professional services only. I do not hold client money. When you pay for a service, the payment is received as my fixed fee for the agreed work; it is not held on your account or for any third-party purpose.

  • As a client of an SRA-regulated solicitor, you benefit from several protections. I must follow the SRA's professional rules, and I carry professional indemnity insurance as described above. You may also be eligible to apply to the SRA Compensation Fund, a discretionary fund of last resort, in the event of a loss arising from my practice. If you are unhappy with my service, you have access to my complaints procedure, and you may be able to refer a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman or the SRA.

  • One of the benefits of selling legal services online is that it brodens the range of payment options available to clients. Simply select a service and go to the checkout to see the options currently available.

  • I am not VAT egistered and do not charge VAT.

  • When I accept your order, I will begin work immediately unless you tell me otherwise. If you would like to preserve your 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, please let me know at the time of placing your order, and I will not start work until the cooling-off period has expired. Full details of your cancellation rights are set out in my terms of engagement.
